Beyond the bonnet demonstration

A clean flat panel is not the same as a finished car.

Customers judge the whole transformation: the mirror, the recess, the corner, the join, the door return and the edge that starts lifting six weeks later.

Adept's four-day course is built around the complete installation mindset. You learn what to inspect, remove, mask and prepare; how to plan film direction and tension; and how to finish the areas that separate a convincing colour change from vinyl placed over paint.

The instructor demonstrates, you apply, the result is inspected and the weak point is corrected while the material is still in your hands.

Prepare→Plan→Apply→Post-heat

Start with the reason

What brought you
to wrap training?

Different starting points create different weak spots. The course is designed to establish one professional method while giving direct correction where each trainee needs it.

01

I want a practical route into vehicle wrapping.

You are serious about building a technical career and want to learn the correct sequence from preparation to post-heat—not piece it together from disconnected videos.

Build professional foundations
02

I already detail, tint or install PPF.

You understand workshop discipline and vehicle care. Colour-change wrapping could add another valuable service, but the dry-apply material behaves very differently.

Add colour-change work
03

My business needs another capable pair of hands.

Demand depends too heavily on one installer. A team member needs a repeatable method for panels, edges, heat, disassembly decisions and quality control.

Develop installation capacity
04

I can wrap flat panels—but the details let me down.

Bonnet-sized pieces are manageable. Mirrors, handles, recesses, joins, door shuts and lifting edges are where time, film and confidence disappear.

Correct self-taught habits

Where quality is decided

“A wrap is judged
where the panel ends.”

The face earns the photograph. The corners, returns, joins and post-heated edges determine whether the finish survives inspection and ownership.

The four-day programme

From loose film
to finished vehicle.

Each day increases complexity while reinforcing the same sequence: inspect, prepare, plan tension, apply, finish and quality-check.

Day 01

Material & core control

Understand how cast vinyl, adhesive, tension and heat behave before attempting to dominate the film.

  • Film types, tools and workshop safety
  • Vehicle inspection and surface preparation
  • Anchors, squeegee pressure and heat
  • First guided application on real panels
Day 02

Preparation & full panels

Move from isolated technique into a repeatable panel-by-panel workflow.

  • Cleaning, degreasing, masking and priming
  • Planning stretch and direction
  • Bonnet, door and wing application
  • Returns, edges and door-shut decisions
Day 03

Complex shapes & recovery

Work on the areas where heat, material memory and poor tension create visible failures.

  • Mirrors, handles, recesses and bumpers
  • Knifeless tape and safe finishing
  • Gloss, matte, satin and textured films
  • Bubbles, wrinkles, lift lines and rework
Day 04

Professional completion

Bring preparation, installation and finishing together under realistic working conditions.

  • Guided full-panel work under time pressure
  • Trimming, edge finishing and post-heat
  • Inspection, handover and aftercare
  • Workshop setup and final skills assessment

Real Adept installation work

Technique is exposed by shape

Mirrors, handles and recesses reveal every bad habit.

The film can look perfect on the face while tension is quietly stored at the corner or edge.

You will learn to read the material, use heat for a defined purpose, choose anchors that support the shape and recognise when a stretched section should be relaxed, repositioned or replaced.

01

Read the film

Learn how whitening, distortion, adhesive lines and tension reveal what has happened beneath the surface.

02

Use heat deliberately

Heat should relax, form or post-set the material for a reason—not become the answer to every difficult shape.

03

Finish beyond the face

Corners, edges, joins, returns and door shuts determine whether the wrap feels integrated or merely applied.

04

Know when to reset

Lifting and repositioning early can save the panel. Persisting with compromised material usually costs more time later.

Door shuts & returns

Outside gets the photograph. Returns make it feel finished.

Not every project needs complete door shuts, but every project needs an intentional finishing plan. You will learn how coverage, seams, film direction and disassembly choices affect time, material and the final result.

What you leave with

The method, the tools and a realistic next step.

A certificate records completion. The greater value is knowing why film failed, how to correct it and what professional work demands beyond the obvious panel.

01

Professional starter kit

Knife, felt-edge and mini squeegees, trim tools, edge trimmer and spray bottle to keep.

02

Unlimited training film

Professional vinyl and practice material are provided throughout the four course days.

03

Certificate

An Adept certificate of completion following participation and the final skills assessment.

04

Real vehicle experience

Guided work on genuine vehicle panels rather than training only on small flat boards.

05

Commercial context

Workshop setup, material planning, customer expectations, inspection and sensible first-job progression.

06

Studio facilities

Training inside Adept's working Cheltenham bay, with free onsite parking and refreshments available.

Course investment

Four days.
The complete foundation.

A longer format creates room to move beyond flat panels, repeat difficult techniques and receive correction before bad habits become working habits.

  • Four intensive hands-on days
  • All course film and materials
  • Professional starter tool kit
  • Adept certificate of completion
  • Free onsite parking

Before you reserve a place

Questions serious trainees ask.

We would rather explain what four days can—and cannot—achieve than sell an unrealistic promise of instant mastery.

Do I need previous wrapping experience?+

No. The course is suitable for complete beginners as well as detailers, PPF installers, bodyshop staff and self-taught wrappers who want a stronger method. Patience, care and a willingness to repeat the process matter more than prior experience.

How much is the four-day wrapping course?+

The full course is £2,690 including VAT per person. It includes four days of training, all film and practice materials used during the course, professional equipment, a starter tool kit and an Adept certificate of completion.

How much of the course is hands-on?+

Practical work is the priority. The instructor demonstrates the method and explains why it works, then trainees apply it to real vehicle panels with correction and feedback throughout.

Will I learn door shuts, returns and difficult areas?+

Yes. The programme covers the decisions and techniques behind returns, selected door-shut work, mirrors, handles, recesses, edges and bumpers. The exact panels available depend on the training vehicles used for that intake.

Will I learn how to cut safely?+

Yes. Training covers blade control, knifeless tape, edge trimmers and planning cuts away from vulnerable paint. Safe finishing is treated as part of the installation method, not an afterthought.

Does the certificate make me manufacturer accredited?+

No. The Adept certificate records completion of Adept's training and final assessment. Manufacturer-endorsed installer schemes have separate testing and eligibility requirements.

Will I be ready to take full-car bookings after four days?+

You will leave with a professional process and a much clearer understanding of vehicle wrapping, but consistent speed and finish require practice. We recommend consolidating each technique on suitable panels before committing to high-risk customer work.

What is included in the starter kit?+

The current course toolkit includes an Olfa knife, felt-edge squeegee, mini squeegee, trim tools, edge trimmer and spray bottle. All vinyl used during the training is provided.

Where does the training take place?+

At Adept Wrapping, Unit 9 Manchester Park, Tewkesbury Road, Cheltenham, GL51 9EJ. Free onsite parking is available and course places are limited.
